Discover Crete in Winter: Knossos Palace, Kera Monastery, Vidiani Monastery & Lasithi Plateau Day Trip

Begin your winter day trip at the Palace of Knossos, the most famous archaeological site in Crete. Walk among the ancient ruins, explore the royal halls, and listen to the legends of King Minos, the Minotaur, and the Labyrinth.

Continue to the Kera Monastery, a peaceful and beautiful place surrounded by nature. Inside, you can admire old frescoes and the famous icon of the Virgin Mary, which many people believe brings blessings.

Next, visit the Vidiani Monastery, located on the Lasithi Plateau and surrounded by tall pine trees. Enjoy the calm atmosphere, the mountain views, and the warm hospitality of the local monks.

Afterwards, stop at a ceramics workshop. Watch local artists make and paint pottery by hand – an ancient craft that is still an important part of Cretan tradition today.
Finish your trip in Tzermiado, the main village of the Lasithi Plateau. Stroll through its quiet streets, admire the mountain scenery, and relax in a cozy taverna. Lunch is optional and not included, but it’s a great chance to taste real Cretan food.
