Heraklion City Tour, Market & CretAquarium

We start the tour with a visit to the Cretaquarium. It’s one of the most modern aquariums in Europe. You will see many sea animals that live in the Mediterranean Sea. There are small, colorful fish, clams, big tuna, and even sharks. After the visit, you can sit and enjoy a coffee or snack in the aquarium café.

Next, our Heraklion Tour takes you to the largest open-air market in the area, in the Pateles neighborhood. This market is full of color and energy. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, cheeses, olives, clothes, and handmade items. It’s a great place to see how local people shop and live.

We then go to the center of Heraklion, the capital of Crete. We stop at Liberty Square, a good starting point to explore the old and new parts of the city. You can walk around the streets, see old buildings, and learn about the city’s long history. You’ll find places built by the Byzantines, the Venetians, and the Ottomans. You can also visit the Koules Fortress at the harbor or walk along the Venetian Walls.

You will have free time to enjoy a coffee or lunch at one of the cafés in Lions’ Square. If you want, you can also visit one of Heraklion’s museums, the public library, the art gallery, or one of the city’s beautiful old churches.
