Join us on a fun and relaxing trip to Gramvousa Island and Balos Lagoon, two of the most beautiful places in Crete. This full-day tour combines sea views, history, and free time for swimming.
First, we drive west across the island to the port of Kissamos. On the way, we stop in Skaleta near Rethymnon. Here, you can enjoy a coffee or a light breakfast before we continue.
After that, we arrive at Kissamos and board the boat. The boat ride lasts about one hour and offers beautiful views of the sea and coastline. Along the way, we pass a large cave that may have served as an old shipyard. In addition, you will learn about a rare natural event. While one part of the island is slowly sinking, another part is rising. In fact, the western side has risen by 6 to 9 meters.
Next, we reach Gramvousa Island, also known as the “Pirates’ Island.” The island is rich in nature, with many birds and plants. If you wish, you can climb up to the Venetian fortress built in 1579. From the top, you can enjoy amazing views. Afterwards, you may swim in the clear sea or relax on the beach. You can also enjoy lunch on the boat.
Then, we sail to Balos Lagoon, one of the most famous beaches in Greece. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is soft and white. For this reason, many visitors compare it to the Caribbean. You will have about three hours of free time. During this time, you can swim, relax, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
