Elounda, Spinalonga BBQ, Agios Nikolaos

Join our Spinalonga Tour with lunch and enjoy a full day of history, swimming, and good food. This tour combines beautiful landscapes with important cultural sites in Crete.

First, we arrive at the lovely harbor of Elounda. From there, we board a boat and sail toward Kolokitha Bay.

At Kolokitha Beach, you have time to swim in the clear blue sea or relax in the sun. Meanwhile, we prepare a fresh BBQ lunch on board. The meal includes grilled pork chop, Greek salad, feta cheese, bread, seasonal fruit, and a drink. You can choose wine or a soft drink.

After about 1.5 hours, we leave the beach and continue to Spinalonga Island. This small island has a long and moving history. In ancient times, it protected the city of Olous. Later, pirates used it as a hideout. The Venetians then built a strong fortress there. After that, the Ottomans settled on the island. Finally, in the 20th century, it became a leper colony.

During the guided visit, you learn about each period of its history. As a result, you understand why Spinalonga is one of the most important historical sites in Crete.

Next, we return by boat to Elounda. Then, we travel by bus to our next stop. On the way, we enjoy a short olive oil tasting. Here, you can try one of Crete’s most famous local products.

Finally, we arrive in Agios Nikolaos, the capital of Lasithi. You can walk along the harbor, relax with a coffee near Lake Voulismeni, or visit local shops for souvenirs. After that, we begin our return journey.
